Enough

Holding hands isn't enough
Hugging you is just the same
Not even the gift you gave to me
When you offered your family name
You see...
I miss you when you're away
But... I miss you when you're here
Time flies by way too fast
And our days run into years
Children coming soon
Just yesterday, I stood, searching your eyes
Wondering what the future held
And if you were indeed the right guy
I remember being so scared
As we stood there in the cold
The wind pierced through my jacket
You held me in a solid hold
Young and untried
Neither of us were yet starting our careers
When I think about these things
I cry bitter and sweet tears
Now, when we dance, I'm not ashamed
Or embarrassed to stand by your side
I treasure the closeness of your person
We turn, we step, we glide
Now, when we kiss, I feel your lips
Instead of drinking them so fast
When we cuddle and watch movies
I pray it stretches long, and lasts
Because I know your heart
I feel it
Right here in my chest
I know I've waisted years
It's time we step together in all the rest
