"I'm still thinking"

It's been too long, they always say

To me, it was just yesterday

We laughed, we cried, we shared many a meal

You understood more than words can feel

When distinct scents waft in the air

They yield piercing memories, like you're still here

I have plenty pictures you left behind

At times I look through them all, then go back and rewind...

I think of the aura you'd naturally bring

And It hits me hard, biting, though replete

I talked to you a lot about heaven and hell

You knew the scriptures exquisitely well

But when you left, it disturbed me so

Because In my heart, I knew not where you'd go

Maybe I could have said a whole lot more

Even prayed harder until you weren't bored...

At least...

Time can pass... Even years

When I remember you, I have tainted-sweet tears

Alas, in heart... I yearn and miss you

I remember it all... I genuinely do.
